MacBook Pro - Won't wake up at all!!!!!

Hi,

Can anyone help. My husband's MacBook Pro running snow leopard won't wake up at all. We've tried pressing and holding the power button, removing the battery and the power cable.

Any ideas?

Is the machine still under warranty or Apple care? If it won't wake even from powering down and back, it could have a hardware problem. Take it to your local Apple store and let them look at it. If it's not under warranty, post back and we can try some things.

I'm having almost the same problem. - I open the screen, it wont wake, I tap the finger pad and the space bar - nothing. I have to hold down the power button to shut down. Then power button to start up. once the screen comes back on it is in the grayed out "safety mode" I guess. it wakes for a second them back into sleep mode!

It is still under the Best Buy warranty were I got it - but i don't trust it will come back in a timely manner much less fixed.

any suggestions?
