ok so I can watch blu-ray dvd's on my mac, and i want to transfer this to my HD ready tv. However my tv doesn't have a HDMI input and I understand that I cannot buy MDP to component cable (correct my if I'm wrong!). Since i'm new to all this, I was wondering if I used a number adapters from my MDP to VGA or DVI, to component cable, would I lose the high definition quality?

thanks for your time.

Which Mac do you have (year, size, CPU)? Need to know if you have one of the new ones that supports audio out through MDP or not.

I assume he does, since he says he can watch Blu-ray movies on it (the Mac).

OP, I've never done this specific thing before (used multiple adapters), but I would stay with a DVI connection if possible. VGA is analog, and thus you may lose some picture quality.

Hope that helps a bit.

yeah its a new Macbook pro, the one that came out last month or so. So DVI is greater quality than VGA? how about if i then ran it into component? or would you recommend straight into DVI?

Do you have a DVI input available on the TV?
