Game Releases

I just have a question about gaming and the mac - why can't games be released for osx at the same time they are released for the pc? (Some good examples are doom 3, battlefield 1942, and the sims 2, which all came out a loooong time after the pc versions were released.) Is it really that hard to release them at the same time?

they have to rewrite the script ( I think ) to mac im NOT VERY VERY SURE

Yes it is different programming and they also don't really care about the Mac markets since it is much smaller, so they aren't going to delay the PC release date so they can sell an extra 5% max to the Mac users at the same time
