Hi all,

Just had a question regarding installing snow leopard on a late 2007 macbook pro. I'm thinking of getting an ex-lease macbook pro that works fine but has no operating system on it, it doesn't come with the OS X install discs either. I already have a late 2008 macbook pro which came with the system installation discs but, as I understand, these won't work on any other machine.

So my question is, would I be OK getting this ex-lease laptop and getting a retail disc to install snow leopard on it? or does there have to be an existing OS on the machine?

Thanks in advance

You can use the retail disk on the ex-lease notebook. You need to format the HDD though before you can install.
