I recently have been using my iMac's Target Display Mode feature and i was wondering about a few things;

  1. I have Windows 7 installed on the iMac, can i use Target Display Mode when i am running the Windows OS.
  2. Am i able to record the A/V being displayed in TDM to a video file on my HD

Thank you

1. No. TDM only works when booting to OS X via firewire to firewire.

2. Yes, you should be able to record A/V when booted in TDM.

Regards.

No, unless you're confusing Target Mode with attaching an external monitor. Target Mode boot can only be done by attaching two Macs via their Firewire ports. If you're just hooking up an external monitor to your 27" iMac that's different. Plus, your iMac can also accept video in which other iMac models can not.

BTW, TDM = Target Disk Mode

Regards.

Sorry but I am talking about Target Display Mode, not Target Disk Mode

Sorry about that (TDM). Confusion of terminology. But anyway it seems you already got your answer from another post.

Regards.
