I just signed up for Netflix and I really love it. I'm finding myself adding all kinds of movies to my Queue that I normally would never have rented. Also for Mac users, Netflix Freak is a must have and of course it's developed by one of our reputation point contest sponsors, the talented The Little App Factory.

Anyone else here use it?

Wow I didn't think to see if they had anime. Maybe I will have to look in to start using it too now.

Just so I'm sure, what you do is put movies in your queue, and they send x amount to you, then when you send some back, they send more out to you. And you pay a monthly fee and get free return envelopes to return the movies.

Tons of anime Claudius753! i usually have about 3 or4 complete series/movies/ovasand watch about 3 DVDs per week (20$ allows you to keep 3 DVDs per time). It is a great service indeed!

Netflix subscriber since 2001 here. Great service, and beats the pants out of having to stop at Blockbuster.

I have the lowest level of service, four movies per month, two out at a time, for $11.99.

Actually Netflix now has a 9.99 1 DVD-at-a-time / unlimited per month plan. Here's the list of plans.

Nice. I may have to check that out, although the two-at-a-time works nicely for me.

Thanks!

I would love to sign up to Netflix but it's not available in the UK! I had a poke around Blockbuster but they don't have the films I want.

I also think netflix has the best selection... of the wierdest movies.... Seriously...that's what I like about them...sometimes I just like to watch crappy movies...and netflix has them.... Only wish they carry porn...like Jeanna Jameson...or Tera Patrick's flixs...yeah...

There are lots of other services similar to Netflix that specialize in, uh, those kind of films.

Amazon.de has a similar service here in germany... quite useful for getting british films every now and then...

i liked netflix, but lately it pissed me off to the point that i cancelled my membership. its great for catching up on older movies that you want to rewatch, or see for the first time. But the only way your going to get new releases, is if you ship your dvds back saturday, so that they receive them monday. Otherwise, youll be watiing weeks. eveytime a new release came out, it would go to short wait, then long wait, then very long wait. Id end up paying 32 something a month(5 at a time) and then still having to go to blockbuster and get new releases..

I have heard that Neflix throttles their movies. In that they slow down sending out new movies, if you saw watching to many in a month.

That is part of their policy actually for heavy renters and is in the fine print of the contract. That way people of all levels are supposed to have the same access to movies. Generally it doesn't ever affect anyone on the 3 out plan or lower.

As for menace, his situation seems extreme. Most of the throttling I've read about is that heavy users may have a 2 day turn around time instead of a one day turnaround time.

As for me personally, I have the 3 out plan and I've always had 1 day turnaround and have never had a problem with a movie on a waiting list. It may just depend on your market.
