Clean Desktop - disabling automatic mount of drives

Just like the title says,

I would like to disable the icons of my drives appearing on the desktop.

I like my desktop to be uncluttered and these icons are not useful at all to me. I never go to the desktop to access my drives. Since I am dual-booting, there are 2 icons, one of which I will "never" access.

Try this the next time you are in the Finder. I think it will do what you want:

1. From the Finder go to the Finder Menu in the upper left corner of the screen and choose Preferences.
2. In the Window that appears select the General Tab
3. Uncheck items you don't want to appear on the desktop the close the window,
