I searched high and low but can't find the answer. I connected my macbook to my Samsung TV with a mini DVI to HDMI connect and RCA sound connectors through the headphones output. The video works fine but the audio isn't working. I looked in system preferences which says the output is headphones. I looked in the TV sound options but can't find anything that will help. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks :D

Did you look in the Samsung Owner's Manual in the Connections section to find out which HDMI port is required to be used that will work with separate audio input? And which audio input you must use?

You can read through some of these posts to get an idea... but your Owner's Manual will have the answer.

Thanks for the help. I was able to find that the TV has a specific PC/DVI Audio input jack. It only has one hole for the audio, not the red/white jacks that my cable has. Does anyone know which audio cable I will need to purchase?

That should be a mini-plug the same as the end you're plugging into your Mac.

You'll want a 1/8" stereo mini-plug at both ends like these. Should be able to get one at any electronics store. Many Samsungs typically only have one HDMI port that will work with that audio port also - make sure you check that out. On the back of the TV, that one port is usually named DVI/HDMI.
