I use a Power Mac G5. I would like to have my Mac say a welcome message when I restart it or cut it on. Is there a way to do that? Or is the answer, changing the default sound when it is starting up? Thought it would be a cool thing to have when I get to work in the mornings and start up my mac.

cut it on? That's an interesting expression.

Look for a screen saver that allows you to enter the text. I don't see that in my Screen Saver prefs panel, but bet it's available from somewhere.

You haven't heard that terminology before? A pretty popular term for "turning something on" in many areas of the United States.

In addition to "cut it on"...you can "cut it off" as well.;)

That one I've heard, and "cut it down" of course. "Cut it on" just sounds wrong to me. Cut it up and cut it out. ;)
