I am but a lowly college student who cannot really afford Photoshop or anything very fancy. I've commandeered my mom's PC and have been using Paint.Net on it for my imaging needs.

Is there anything similar to the Paint.Net program that is compatible with a MacBook?

Please and thank you.

If you are looking for free, I might suggest GIMP... while not officially intended for Macs it does work... GIMP on OS X is a site that should get you started.

This may not meets all of your needs (I haven't actually tried it) but Paintbrush may work for you.
