Unknown icons in Finder

what's with the "?" in the middle, and the 2 images for "unknown" png icons ?

any folder i open in finder displays those.

The ? mark indicates you added something to your Toolbar that no longer exists. As for the generic graphics icons... something similar. Just right-click on your Toolbar, Customize, then drag them off. While you're there, you may want to look at some of the other items you can add to it. Personally, I find the "Path" button to be useful.
