The iPod will not turn on

My ipod when disconnected from the computer will not turn, has restarted, formatted etc.
I can get songs to itunes etc but when I go to turn on (disconnected from the computer) he does not care or react ..

any can help me?

It would help if you tell us which iPod you have. And, make sure the iPod's battery is charged and functional. If the battery is dead or defective, when you remove it from the USB port on your computer you'll no longer have power.

Has it worked before you plugged in the device to the computer?

Sounds like the battery doesn't hold a charge anymore...and that's why it doesn't work when it's disconnected from your computer.

It only works when it's connected to your computer because it's getting powered through USB.
