I'm posting this on behalf of a member AVS, because of a posting bug issue.

I have a 2 x 2.28 Quad-Core Xeon machine with four trays for internal SATA drives. I have to set the machine up to edit 1080 video, so I'm going to raid some drives. As long as I'm at it, I'd like to raid all four SATA drives, but that leaves me no drive to use for OS/apps. Is it possible to add a PATA drive on the open slot on the cable for the DVD drive and boot from that? Any other ways to accomplish what I'm trying to do? Better ways? Any suggestions or pitfalls to avoid would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help.
