Help needed installing Snow Leopard

I just installed a new hard drive on my computer and I am trying to load snow leopard, however when it gets to the part where it says choose disk, there is no disk. However when I go to disk utility it sees the hard drive no problem.

Anything you can think of that would help would be greatly appreciated.

While you were there looking at it in Disk Utility, did you format the drive?

Nope. I didn't see that in disk utility. I'll look again, but where would I find it?
