Mail issue

A friend sent me an e-mail that I just can't delete. It freezes up mail and all I get is the spinning ball. How can I manually delete this e-mail with out opening up Mail?

Go into you webmail and delete it there.

I tried that, but it has already been downloaded to my computers. Thanks

Ok this was strange. I could not delete the message with the delete button with out freezing the mail app, but I could drag it to the trash bin then deleted it there. Problem solved.
