This is the problem you have when you have business/marketing guys running the show… they are oblivious to technological limitations. They just figure they can spin it and downplay problems, rather than actually address them.

That statement speaks so loudly to me of "MS under Ballmer". As I think under his reign MS has the exact same issue.

Exactly. Jobs said as much, and he's totally right. I actually see the same thing in my field of work in medical imaging. There's one company in particular that has been around for years and was the technology leader. Today, they have stagnated and really haven't innovated the way their main competitor has, but so many of my peers are soooo used to the equipment from the first one that they stand by it, even in the face of demonstrably superior quality of the other company. They've never used anything else, but they insist it's the best. Now, one of these two companies is currently run and directed by business guys. The other has guys with doctorates in engineering running the show. Guess which is which?
