Hi,
I've bought a Samsung S2 Portable - 640GB and I can't format it in MacOS (Disk Utility).
If I create a GUID partition and try to format, I get a kernel panic (force to shutdown). If I create a Apple Partition I'm able to create the partition but I can't format.
Now the strange part: if I connect the drive to VMWare (Windows XP), it does recognize and format without trouble. So it does not seem a hardware limitation, but a software one. Also, when formatted as NTFS, MacOS does not even see the disk (not even Disk Utility). I have to go into Windows and clear the partition, in order for MacOS to see the disk.
I have a Macbook white (early 2008).
Thanks.
