Using a MBP Version OS X 10.6.2

Anyone had this happen, my date and time has simply reverted to this date
with the settings for it still on "show date and time automatically"

Now I cant restart computer properly...

...Yet another bug in a long line of crepe with my MBP.
Sorely disappointed with this notebook/platform...:Grimmace:

i have this same problem and i think i know why it happens.. when you check 'set date & time automatically' i think that once it's powered up it tries to check that web server (or whatever time.apple.com is) via the internet to set the time.. once it fails it isn't sure of itself and sets it to a random date... mine always changes to dec 31 1969, weird. edit: i guess that's not really random at all

but once you're connected to the web just open the date & time panel again and it will connect to get info to display the correct time

and

jrock yours is probably an older computer with the same problem - flat battery.
