Does anyone know how it's done? Or if it's even possible. If yes, do I need special soft ware, what type? Thanks.

What do you mean by corrupted drive? Looking to get a better understanding of your question.

If the hard drive has gone south (failed), then there is nothing you can do but replace it.

If you are saying the operating system is corrupted, then you format (wipe disk clean) and reload the operating system.

Then there are disk programs like disk warrior that may resolve your problem with wiping the disk clean. What ever you do don't use norton utilities, if you are running os x.

I have read some where that Norton does not work well with OS X. It causes even more problems, than you had in the first place.

Drive 10 works, but not as well as Disk Warrior
