Mac Display Problems

Hi,

I have my mac plugged into a Sony monitor via mini-dvi to vga. Now though i get weird things on my screen. Any ideas?

Check the Displays preference pane to set the resolution to whatever is native for the external sony monitor. Those fonts look stretched due to incorrect resolution. Not sure about those black lines though :-/

Or do you have display problems on your MacBook screen as well?

Thats the problem, my macbook screen is broken hence the use of sony monitor. I'm just hoping its a resolution/cabling issue and not related to the fact that i upgraded my memory recently.
