Hey all,

I have a quick question that hopefully you guys can answer for me.

My MBP has my entire iTunes Library on its hard drive (minus Movies) and my dad has a Windows laptop running the latest version of iTunes.

Now, I have setup a share and the Windows laptop can see my library - woohoo I thought. Until I tried my plan out.

My mom and dad both have iPod Shuffles and I would like them to be able to sync them on that laptop. I just can't figure out a way to do it though so I'm looking for someone to shed some light on this - if it is possible.

My music library is also larger than the HDD in the Windows laptop to transfer it over as almost everything is AAC Lossless... :(

Thank you in advance!! :)

Do you mean that you are sharing wirelessly, via your router, or as a direct plug in to the HD?

Sorry but you will not be able to sync an iPod with with content that you are sharing over wifi from another computer. The computer that the iPod is connected to has to have the content you are trying to sync in it iTunes library

Nice one Clay. That would have been my reply too, but I went to bed.

Doubt your parents want your entire library on their computer or on their iPods.

I know i'm about as bad now as I use to think my dad was. I'll listen to some of my kids music and my thought is "What's that junk", only not so polite.

They can drag and drop only what they want from your machine to theirs with Homesharing just for syncing purposes. Switch the iPod to manually manage after the first sync. Then they can delete and add to iTunes as space allows, and add/delete from their iPod using drag and drop.

LOL. We have the same tastes in music. I only have about 300 songs newer than 1995...

So they actually do want pretty much everything! :D

I know what you mean though...
