Weird thing keeps happening

Everytime I start up my mac (from a restart or just starting up in general) one of my usb ports on the back of the mini doesn't work until I plug something into it.

For example; my mini has my keyboard and my mouse in the back. When i powerup, only the keyboard USB works, and the other on requires me to unplug, then replug the mouse.

Is there any way around this?

I've not seen this problem on my mini - running tiger or panther - I went back to panther as tiger was have issues with the system not going to sleep.

I'm a noob myself --- have you loaded any flakey or esoteric software ??

Are you using any kind of USB External HUB at all? One that I had that was not powered did that both on my Mini and G4 500.

Did not do it without the hub connected.
