ibook g4 RAM upgrades??

I understand upgrading a ibook G4's RAM is a easy task. I was just wondering if there were any measure i should be taking before attempting this? ie:backing up work, reinstalling OS etc

Any help appreciated

Your Mac's Specs
2012 MBP i7 2.7 GHz 15" Matte - 16 GB RAM - 120 GB Intel SSD - 500 GB DataDoubler Mac OS 10.9
Usually nothing will go wrong so don't worry about it.
You won't have to reinstall the OS all you are doing is replacing the RAM not the HD.
And a backup is always a good idea, even when you aren't going to do anything with your Mac.
