Apple patent filing portends Google ad war ? The Register
This looks really nice and makes Wi-Fi hot spots way more useful. But it would up your bandwidth usage as you'd have up upload the content each time you entered the hotspot. Unless it was uploaded once and just activated each time you entered the hotspot. Still that's a micro upload to do this.
And the owners of the hotspots, the libraries, shops, businesses etc would have to pay for this extra bandwith I guess. But I'm sure we'll all feel it with 2¢ added onto the cost of their products. Actually I would be willing to pay a few ¢ more per chai latte if the coffee/tea shop had decent Wi-Fi.
