My DVD Player vanished

I need some help! I have a MacBook, and all of the sudden the DVD player program vanished. The desktop shortcut had a question mark on it, and when I investigated it said that the program didn't exist. I tried playing DVDS, and nothing happens.
So, I went and downloaded another DVD player from the mac website, but it doesn't open at all. It just shows an error message.
Anyone know what to do? I miss my movies. :(

Sounds like you're trolling. If you really want help, post back with the year - model of your MacBook and the version of OS X you're using.
