Hello, I am really needing help with this. I
have been scratching my head about what to
do.
I have a cable modem through a local ISP.
The ISP provides the signal which is
connected to the cable modem through a
coaxial cable. There is an ethernet cable from
the modem in to my wireless router. From the
wireless router comes out three ethernet
cables which give connections in to three
different rooms.
Here is my problem
-I am trying to upgrade to a n wireless router.
-I am also trying to add either a
NAS+printer+Airport Extreme Base Station or
NAS+printer+Time capsule
Things would have been easy setup but all
this setup of cable modem and wireless router
is in the basement. I want to be in one of the
rooms with an ethernet connection.
So my question is if I can add the
NAS+printer+AEBS/TC combination in any
one room with an ethernet cable, will there be
a problem because the Linksys will be running
a different wireless network and there will be
another wireless network running through the
AEBS or TC. One will be g and one will be n.
Is there something that I can use to get rid of
the Linksys all together and have some kind
of a splitter which will accept the one input of
the cable modem and give out the three
ethernet connections to the rooms where I can
plug in the fancy setup of NASetc etc I am
dreaming of.
Any help or advice will be appreciated
