Can someone tell me how to get an animated gif to work properly in keynote? What i am looking for is to have a bouncing volleyball on one of the slides. I have the animated gif, but I can't get it to animate on the slide. It shows as a still picture.

You should be able to just drag the animated GIF right into Keynote from the Finder. Once it's on the slide where you want it, open the QuickTime Inspector (the last section of the Inspector) and set Repeat to Loop if you want it to continue animating for the duration of the slide. Also make sure Start movie on click is not checked and that the Start & Stop points are where you want them.

You could animate a image of a ball in keynote as well.
