Anyway to limit how far back Mail syncs with my G-mail?

Hi.

I'd like to use Mail to handle my e-mailing, and sync it up with my G-mail account. But there are literally tens of thousands of e-mails in that account and I don't really want to copy all of them over to Mail.

Is there anyway to set a date range or something and have Mail only sync back to that date?
