Unable to close Tabs, Any Browser, Snow Leopard

MacBook Pro, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, nVidia GeForce 9400M
Recently, I've been having trouble closing or selecting tabs, I've tried Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. It happens whether I'm using a trackpad or a mouse, although it seems to happen more with the trackpad. It's been getting worse over the last couple of weeks.

Has anyone else reported having problems like this? What's causing the glitch?

Running 10.6.3 on a late 2008 unibody MacBook.
