iMac starting up -- drive sounds funny maybe?

When I start my mac from off or sleep mode, I can hear the drive or player make a sound like it does when you insert or remove a disk. Is this normal? because I can't remember if it always did this.

Mine has always made a very short buzz/zip noise when waking from sleep... I believe normal.
