I have searched forums now for about an hour and I haven't found any answers yet as to why my Macbook won't pick up my USB mic.

I've gone to System preferences and there is no option but the built in mic in my input box.

Does anyone know how to get my Mac to read a USB mic?

Thanks so much!

Welcome to the Forum. If it is not showing up like this, then test it on another Mac - it might be a duff unit;

It is likely not selected in system prefs. I had this happen with a headset I have. I plug it in but it only sees the mic on the system rather than the headset. A quick under system prefs/sound (input) and I was able to select which mic to use.

I tried another Mac. No avail. The only option it gives me is the built in mic.

Not cool. Mac why won't you recognize any mics?

Sounds like the USB Mic is no go or incompatible.
