What is the best browser for the iPad?
I have heard bad things about Safari and that Cloud Browser supports flash.

Any input?

There is also Opera Mini but as Raz0rEdge stated, you can't use Flash on the iPhone/iPad regardless of browser. The only way I can imagine viewing Flash content on the iPad is to remotely access a computer and use a browser there but that seems like a terrible idea.

Quite frankly, Cloud Browse bites the big bullet. Yeah, you get flash because it's not running on your device. It's running on a system in the cloud and than being streamed to your device. Half the time it crashes and the other half you can't play what you wanted because you have no mouse.

There is only one browser for the iPad at this time and that's Safari. This makes the question of which one is best rather moot.

Au contraire ;). There are those two and I believe there are a few WebKit shells. Sure, they're not iPad specific apps but AFAIK, they should work on the iPad.

Perhaps this comes down to what you call iPad apps - does this include iPhone apps or apps designed for the iPad specifically?

They both work and look like junk unless you want to use them in iPhone size. By the time you 2x them up to iPad screen size text bites.

Safari is a good browser though I have been playing with Atomic Browser which is also nice. It has tabs and finger swipes. I use the 2 finger swipes to go back and forth in he browser. It's worth trying out if you are looking for another browser.

I can imagine that doubling the size of the app would make it look terrible. Add that on top of the fact that Opera Mini not zoomed in on a page is already bad enough.

Well, thought I had a new favorite browser there for a few minutes. Full screen, tabs, ad blocker... Went to try editing a really long post which is a pain in Safari, and what do you know, it opened a message box with the entire post. I'm thinking "alright, no pitr scrolling".

Too soon... The stupid thing will not bring up the keyboard inside the message box on vB forums. Not here and not on vB's own forums. Not on 4 out of 5 forums I tried.

It will let you open the copy/paste window. Only if i click on cut or paste, i find myself back at the main screen instead of in the browser.

So, it'd be great if I gave up posting in forums.

Maybe it's a sign.
