Buy iPhone overseas?

So I'm in the market for a new iPhone...

But I'm a t-mobile customer, and am happy so. I get 1000 minutes for $40, free nights/weekends, texts for an extra $10. With the corporate discount my bill never gets over $55.

Comparable plans at ATT would have me paying $100/mo for data and everything.

If I flew to Germany to pick up an iPhone from t-mobile over there (I don't pay for flights I take, so there's no cost to that) would it be possible to just switch the sim card to mine, and have it work over here, and just add a data plan to my current t-mobile account?

Yes, this should work. I used my German T-Mobile phones on the USA network with no problems other than programming for 911 etc. I have never tried it with a smart phone but it should be the same to be honest.

Try to unlock the iphone

if you can't use yur own sim card... try to unlock the iphone..
