Hi
I am trying to connect a mac book pro onto an office network. When I plug in the cabel I can see all the 'servers?' locations in the side bar of finder under 'shared' but cannot connect to them.
I can get mail from mac mail connecting to my gmail account (so there is some connectivity) but cannot connect to the internet or connect to the other computers.

Does mail work on a different port? Any advice would be great.

Cheers

You really need to speak with your office IT person. It is probably a matter of various security measures in the network that are blocking you.

tried that

Sadly IT people said there should't be any connecting problems, but they don't work with, and are not interested in working with Macs.

If that is the problem then I will persist with them, but wondered if there was a port difference between mail and browser as it seems odd I can get mail.
