Hi guys, hope someone can help.

A few of my applications, most notably, system preferences, mail, adium, are crashing when clicked on from dock and applications folder. Once clicked, there's a pause, the dock disappears, occasionally other programs crash due to it, in addition to all minimized windows opening.

In console, I got the following reports when opening System Preferences:

com.apple.launchd.peruser.502[95] (com.apple.Dock.agent[304]) Job appears to have crashed: Segmentation fault

Hope someone can be of help, can't seem to find anything on it anywhere.

Cheers, DV

Welcome to the Forum. Santa Rosa MBP - u could be on Tiger or Leopard or Snow Leopard - try downloading the combo update and installing that - it may help.

Hello, I'm running 10.6.3 and am up to date. I can't possibly imagine what could be causing this. :[ Thanks for the reply.

Run the 10.6.3 combo updater anyway. It can't hurt, but could cure the illness.
