Hi there I am new to mac and am fixing a friends computer. She has a mac book pro. It will not boot up and I tried using the fsck command and it comes back saying "invalid node structure". I have a copy of disk warrior but when I select it from the boot up it just sits at the power button with a gray screen with the apple logo and spinning wheel and then eventually shows and "no symbol".

G'day and welcome to the forumns.

Is it version 4.2 and are you holding down 'C' after the chimes which is the way to boot to the disc? Also is her optical drive in working order?
