How do I edit a .kar file on Mac?

I want to take some vocal melody tracks out of .kar files that I have.

I know I can load them into Logic and do it, but then I'll lose the lyrics data, and can't save it as a .kar file again.

Is there another basic music package I can use?

Any help appreciated.
