• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I am going to broadcast a video over many video websites...is there an all in one compression I can use that will look good regardless of what video site of video blog is shows up on?

advice for video compression

I have some experience with web video:

My favorite format is MP4 or h.264
Use h.264 as the compressor
choose constant bitrate between 1,000 and 5,000 depending on size and quality.
choose your video size- I use 640 x 480
audio- I choose 256

I hope this helps

MP4 compression

I recently uploaded my MP4 through TubeMogul to 6 different video sites, and it came out very clear on every site. It was my first upload, though, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I was pleased nonetheless.

Hope it helps!:)

I have great luck with the MV4 also. And don't even pay attention to the parameters. Just upload it to tubemogul. So easy!!

The only thing I don't like about Imovie as compared to Window's movie maker is the limited color availability for the text templates. Had to get in there O:)
