Re-install question

Hi Guys, hope you can help me out. About two years ago I bought a refurb MacBook from Apple. It did not ship with recovery discs. Yesterday I bought a new iMac and I want to re-install OSX to reset the MacBook back to factory settings for resale. If I buy a retail copy of Snow Leopard will I be able to use that to do a re-install?

Yes, no problem at all so long as it's an Intel machine.
