converter/dvds

Hello-
I have been trying for awhile now to burn dvds on this macbook. I want to burn TV shows and movies that i have bought from itunes (m4v) files but as we all may know, the DRM protecting wont allow. So i need advice on a converter for my mac as well as a good program to burn dvds on. free software would be nice but the search hasnt gone well thus far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
