Hi,

I have recently had to erase my HD and reinstal OS X Snow Leopard. I have a time machine backup. However, when I enter the time machine, using the disks with previous backups, they do not appear to be there. They are available via Finder. However, I cannot copy files (iPhoto Library etc.) from them to my HD.

Any suggestions why these backups aren't showing up on Time machine.

Many thanks

JG.

When you erased the hard drive and during the reinstall it should have asked you if you wanted to reinstall from backup. Did you select your Time Machine backup then or are you trying recover certain files after the fact?

Also you mention disks (plural). Are your Time Machine backups on more than one external drive?

Regards.
