Melting Plastic

I am going to put my Macbook Pro in a desktop set up (It is a newer model, unibody, but not the one that came out 2 weeks ago). I still will bring it around with me a lot so I am considering getting full case mate clear armor so it won't get scratched. I am going to have the Macbook in Clamshell format when it is hooked up to the Monitor. I no it can get very hot I need to know if Plastic on the interior will melt. I really value this computer.

I would be suspicious of this product on any metal-bodied MacBook, regardless of whether it was used with the lid open or closed.

I would ask Apple to determine whether it would void the warranty or not. If Apple says its okay, then make sure you note the name of the rep you talked to, the time and date, and the place (or phone number you called.)
