Are logic boards interchangeable??

I have a 17" MBP A1261 2.5 Core2 Duo with a busted logic board (out of warranty). For some reason the on ebay those logic boards are 800+ but a logic board for a A1151 with a 2.16 is half the price. Im not a gamer and I dont do anything with my computer other than surf the net and little stuff so i dont need any special hardware. I just want to get my computer running without getting a second mortgage. Will this logic board make my computer run?? And are there alot of issues with the 2.16 logic boards Bc i do notice a lot of them for sale on ebay.

There are variations in the different models. You may have compatibility issues if you don't get the exact replacement.
