I read the very top comment on that page. Didn't Apple give Microsoft the idea of the GUI?

One step further.... it was the Palo Alto Labs (Xerox PARC) which gave Apple the idea of creating an OS with a GUI. Gates copied it from Apple.

That's how business works.
You take a competitors product. Reverse engineer it. And change it just enough to call it your own product, then you sell the slightly modified product and make big profit.

The only one that was ever different. They added inovation to the above scenario. And that's how they are worth billions now.

Didn't Xerox also invent the mouse, but never really knew what to do with it?
