And now many of those hardware pieces does MS take a net loss on to hope to sell more overpriced software? Probably all of them I'd guess.

Well you sell anything at a net loss (like the X-box) is, I would call that a fail.

I'm dead sure I heard about this about 3 months ago while the iPad rumours were still going around... But only just announced?... Anyway, it's been done now, MS need to move on to something else.

No. You may have read it that way, but that's not what I meant.

"And a slew of failed hardware" is referring to other hardware that MS has tried to push and was not successful. The items above that line have actually been pretty good for MS.
