I have a MacBook Pro 15" pre-unibody. I'm buying a new 13" MacBook pro.

Question: Can I move the drive and all its contents to the new laptop? Will the new machine sort out the different drivers etc.

Thanks in advance,

Your Mac's Specs
2.8 GHz 15" MacBook Pro OS X 10.7.x & some old Macs
I can't say for sure if that would work since your 15" is a pre-unibody. Is there a reason why you don't want to use the Migration Assistant? It will basically transfer all your data from your old computer to your new.

The only reason is the 15" has a SSD that I want to move before I sell it. It would just be convenient. But you are right - it would be cleaner to update the new machine with the migration tool and then image it on to the SSD and move it then.

Thanks for the response.
