Hello,

i am trying to set up a linked local network to increase our range that we can transfer data between macbook pros.

we are using it in a sport setting and want to be able to transfer data, including compressed video over a long distance.

we have two airport extremes and two macbook pros.
no internet connection is required, just the local connection between the tow computers.

does anyone have any suggestions?
any help is appreciated.
thanks!

I suspect that what you want to do is set up a WDS with one as Base and the other as remote. The Apple website has instructions how to do this, but essentially all you have to do is locate the MAC ID numbers on the base of your Airport Extremes, bring up Airport Utility under the Utilities Folder in Applications and go through the Manual set up.

I'll try to find the link to the instructions and post it here.
