trash can not emptying

im on a 12 powerbook g4 on 10.5.8, there are some old files from time machine that will not for the life of me that will not delete. i have attached a screenshot to show what files wont go away

I had a problem like this once. I did a little search on Google and found a solution pretty quickly that involves using Terminal. I'll see if I can find it.
