Hi,

I sold my 15" pre-unibody MacBook Pro today, and the person who bought it said that when she was reinstalling the OS (leopard), it wouldn't boot. It gave her a "Source Media Damaged" error. Anyone know what this could be? I've done this process many times but never had this issue before.

Sounds like the OSX DVD might be scratched or just dirty or maybe the new owner put some fingerprints on the DVD.

DVDs and CDs are actually more delicate than they let on, but chances are that if the new owner will clean the disc with a dry lint-free cloth, wiping OUT from the centre not ROUND like you would a record, it might work again.
