MacBook Pro 13" 2.53 GHz Intel Core Duo 2
I'm trying to put together a book for release as an eBook and PDF for Print on Demand and am looking for an open source alternative to Adobe Indesign.

I think I saw one mentioned but it was through that X11 thing, which I found hard to get to work...

Scribus must be what you are referring to. I'm not sure why you think X11 is hard to get to work… what problems are you having?
